After these guys had such a hot engagement session, you would not expect less of their glamorous wedding… sans the motorcycle, of course.
You may recognize Luba and Vlad from their Hot Bodies engagement session published a few months ago when we let his sport bike shine in some dramatic shots. Both classy and fashionable, they continued to delight and amuse a photographer’s eye. It is exactly these two virtues—glam and silliness—that seamlessly intertwined throughout the day.
Luba is a confident self-affirmed professional with a fine taste who pursues modern minimalism and neatness. This is what I felt when walking into one of the rooms to hang a wedding dress. An eco-friendly furnishing with just enough details to maintain a good karma. I gave it a try at expressing that feeling in the wedding gown/dresser shot. And that bridesmaid mopping the floor? Kept her bride happy and sane, and she wasn’t the only person mopping… Make no mistake, the bride is a sweet, sweet person, no stress there whatsoever!
Vlad, also a professional, is a big bike enthusiast. We left the motorcycle alone that day but he compensated with his fellows… They are something. I couldn’t resist asking him in the limo where he picked them up. Ah, another tidbit… the gang was not allowed into their house during the preparation, having to wait on the street. Don’t the hooligans make the best material to shoot, though? If only we didn’t have a schedule to follow… The girls did well keeping up with fun, especially during their à la America’s Got Talent stage performance during the reception.
The spectacular venue, Temple Israel of Lawrence, presented a number of unique and hard-to-miss photo opportunities. The spotlight fell on the room with stained glass windows and the “Red Corridor”, both very suitable for my style and a pursuit of drama, as this couple sought out in their glamorous wedding.
The party was rocked by DJ Alex Edge and Irina Gleyzer, coincidentally the same team whom I teased in a Mexico destination wedding just a week earlier. How much did they rock? Well, I can show something what I’ve been kind of long expecting when watching brides and grooms fly in chairs at the Jewish weddings… The bride slipped and fell from the chair, later followed by the groom! No harm done, just two tons of laughter. I don’t know if it was that gang of “supportive” groomsmen’s fault or not but look at their grins of accomplishment… A revenge for being kept out on the street?
And finally, long-time fans may recognize the faces of one of Zorz Studios’ legendary couples, winners of 2008 EngagEd free engagement session contest. Today’s bride is that rough human’s sister.
