Here’s a quick blog post from today’s Easter Egg Hunt 2022 in my Wild Acres community of Dingmans Ferry, PA.
I truly enjoy covering my community’s events. I unfortunately miss many of them since they tend to happen on weekends—the prime shooting time for my private clients back in NY and NJ—when I have to be away from the community. Luckily, I could work around a few in the past, like the Carnival 2019 and Grads Car Parade 2020. I had even more control and luck with my own mini-events: free Halloween portraits, free Mother’s Day portraits, and my social project Lockdown in Poconos.
I almost missed this event, too! The original date, past Saturday, could actually work but the Egg Hunt got cancelled last minute because of the weather. The new date, although falling on a weekday, was already booked for me in the city, two days in a row! I worked there yesterday, and as I was preparing for the night in my car (I call it Zotel), received a cancellation of today’s job. Drove back home so here I am for you, guys!
Let me show you some of my favorites first. I’ve known some of the kids after working with their families here in Wild Acres. They irresistibly got a bit more of my attention as they know me well and pose eagerly.

Some of my friends wondered why my 3.5-year-old daughter wasn’t in the crowd. It would have been her first public activity appearance since we moved here four years ago so we were so anticipating it! Alas, she got sick a few days ago and missed the fun. I got her a crafty gift from the goodies table so she put it together and posed as a virtual “hello there” for you:

And here are the other three quarters of images, including family portraits and other candid moments.
Fee free to download any of these selectively. They are in medium resolution suitable for regular prints and social sharing. If you must have the original resolution for a large wall portrait, just contact me. I’ll be happy to release them free of charge.

Now that more of you saw me in action (forgive my screams, I tend to get silly when working with kids), consider joining our Wild Acres Photography Club where I’ll be giving my extensive course besides regular exchange of knowledge and fun projects. It will be taking place weekly starting next, in the tent you saw today.
Lastly, here’s a bit of behind-the -scenes, courtesy of Lynn Blair:

Thanks everyone who came, posed, and had a fun mingling! See you around!
