The online Digital Photography for Moms class is for you!

This three-hour intensive workshop will tell you all about digital photography and how you can finally put your camera's potential to use.

I'm Ed from Zorz Studios. A professional photographer since 2006, I've been teaching creative photography to middle and high school students for years, as well as to professional photographers via PPA. Then thought, why not bring my knowledge online to my little photo school, Zorzkool?

A number of my mom-clients were asking me if I could teach the basics to them. They were sharing the nuisance of owning an advanced camera that collects more dust than inspiring photos from a family vacation. So I put together all my training materials and expertise and custom-tailored them for moms! And this will go beyond the basics.

— How a sock can save your party.

— How to achieve a shallow depth of field even if you know nothing about the aperture.

— Do you really have to stand still when taking a photo?

— A creative way out of a photo with noise.

— What to do if your color is only slightly off and changing a preset makes things worse?

— Why you would want to make a cool day look even colder.

— A way to make your camera's quick Auto-mode decisions artistic.

— How to soften the shadows without using any light diffuser.

— How to fight the harsh shadows on your child's face on a sunny day with no sort of shade around?

FAQs

1What level of photography is this for?
Beginner to intermediate. If you already know the basics of exposure, you'll learn how to improve your photography visually or overcome some technical obstacles. If you have that artistic touch but know little about the camera besides the Auto mode, you will learn how to make the camera work for that vision of yours!
2Is this just for moms?
Noooo! :) They happened to be the ones who were asking me the most about teaching but not the only ones, of course. Men are as welcomed! Moreover, I do NOT plan to do a different class for dads. :) Anyone who wants to master their camera and improve images!
3My kids are also curious about photography, would they benefit?
Yes, definitely. Not much will differ in the techniques, principles, or advices other than my occasional references to "your kids" (whom they don't have). I'm making the principles easy to understand but age 9+ is recommended for now. I will be looking into earlier ages later. :)
4Do I have to own a DSLR camera?
You do not have to have one. While the workshop references the more advanced cameras when speaking of the controls, the principles of photography do not change. You'd need to cross-reference your camera's manual to see how it lets you adjust corresponding settings.
5Do I have to have my camera in front of me?
It's a good idea. You will be able to check some of the things I will be referencing although we will not have time to pause and practice just yet.
6What if I don't have any camera yet?
I think you'll get one shortly after the class! It is fine and even advisable to get a sense of what a modern digital camera can do for your creativity and every-day recording needs. If you were on the fence of buying one, you will appreciate all the new opportunities!
7I think I'll have a ton of questions...
Excellent! You can ask them in the designated windows during the presentation. If I see a pressing question that everyone would benefit from addressing, I'll attend immediately. The others will be answered, as many as possible, in the Q&A session after the class. Also, I am including a 30-minute courtesy individual follow-up call when we can focus on your questions and needs.
8I registered for the first session but can no longer make it. What are my options?
First, we'll see if the second session works for you. If not, I will likely be offering more in the near future. How soon will depend on the demand.
9Is this a Zoom meeting?
No. The class' platform is integrated into my business suite that started before everyone knew Zoom.
10Will you and others see me?
Nope, but you will see me! :) This will be a one-way video. No need to comb.
11What about audio? Do I need to be in a quiet room?
I will master-mute everyone during the presentation. You do not have to be in a quiet room if you can still focus. I have the ability to unmute all and will see if it is beneficial at any point, with a notice.
12Do I need to be in front of a computer?
No. You can access the class on your phone or tablet but a larger screen is recommended.
