Dear Parents,

Zorz Studios, in partnership with Pike Gymnastics Academy, is pleased to offer you a new and exciting take on sports team photography this year. The husband-and-wife team is based in Dingmans Ferry, PA out of Poconos studio, while our main office is in Manhattan.

We are taking over your annual sports team photography and would love to expand the traditional portraits by adding our hallmark creative approach to portraits, whether youth or adult. If you're curious, take a look at our portfolio.

We took a close look at what Pike Gymnastics Academy offered in the past years, matched it to cover the conventional approach to posing and pricing, and then added plenty of extras for those looking for a more elaborate, stylish, and striking imagery for their young athletes. Those accustomed to the previous photography packages will still find them, but we heard some of you were longing for more out of photography and digital art. You have the options now, all at wholesale prices without breaking a bank.

Pike Gymnastics Academy Photography Packages

 
Standard

This is what you must have seen before in any typical team photography day. Same spot and background, basic lighting, very quick session. Basic editing is included. You can have a portrait for a total as low as $40.

Enhanced

Take your photography to the next level and bring art to your child's portrait. Locations and backgrounds vary by person per theme, twice as much time is given. Creative lighting and props are used. Our advanced retouching (learn more and see samples here) is required to ensure proper results with such elaborate sessions. Even $90 will get you a cool portrait like never expected.

Digital Art

Infuse our ultimate digital art into unique photography and proudly own a true masterpiece that only select athletes can ever score. Choose from numerous special effects that can turn an average child's portrait into a head-turner. Starting at $160, it's well worth of becoming a talk in the class.

We will not limit you to prints-only or digital-only packages. Mix and match as you wish.

For example, if you go with the Standard package ($30 session fee), love one image, happy with the included basic retouching and don't need further Photoshop fixing, you can purchase that digital high resolution file ($10) and take it to your local consumer lab or pharmacy to print on your own.

You can also combine packages for your child, for example Standard and Enhanced. Read below how to reserve them.

Regardless of your Pike Gymnastics Academy photography package, the number of poses is roughly the same—about 3-5. The additional time for Enhanced and Digital Art will be needed for a more creative approach to poses, lighting, props, and angles.

We reserve a 5-min break between all shoots.

Professional Print Prices

 

If there are multiple photos you love and you prefer better print quality, it may be more beneficial to order prints through Zorz Studios, as we work with a professional-grade lab closed to consumers. Say, instead of buying four digital files ($40) you can build your custom print package. We don't force you into presets—you will be free to choose any print product combinations, customized to your own needs. For the same amount of $40, for example, you can order four 5x7 and two 8x10, resulting in six prints of higher quality. Here are our print prices (minimum order $30):

All your orders, digital and printed, can be conveniently placed directly in the online gallery. No need to fill out any paper forms and hand them to Pike Gymnastics Academy administration! Payments will be securely collected online via Stripe. Digitals will be downloaded right to your devices.

How can all of these be achieved, with so many people involved? Instead of working in one spot at of the Pike Gymnastics Academy, we'll set up multiple "stations" in one of the gyms. Each package will have designated setups. We've done this in other fast-paced shoots with back-to-back clients.

To run this smoothly, it is essential that when you come with your child, we already know what to do, and are ready to jump right in without much asking and pondering left. A required advance signup will make it possible.

Pike Gymnastics photography will be split into two days:

  • Sat, March 25: cheerleading teams (1-2 PM group shots, followed by individuals)
  • Sun, March 26 - gymnastics teams (9-10 AM group shots, followed by individuals)

Each day will start with the group photos of teams so everyone will be required in the first hour. Individual photo sessions will follow throughout the day in accordance to time slot reservations. With the complex approach to creative photography this year, an orderly flow is certainly needed, so time slots need to be reserved in advance. Not to worry, you can change your time later to any available slot if something comes up.

In the form below, please click EACH card to select your type of package, date, and pick a listed available time slot. Click RESERVE and you will be asked to fill out your contact info and style of your photography package (e.g., Dramatic Light, Powder, Watercolor, Shatter).

If you have more than one child, book a separate package for each. If you wish to get more than one package for one child (e.g., Standard and Digital Art), book both packages back-to-back.

FAQs

1If I have siblings attending Pike Gymnastics Academy, can you cover them all in one session?
It won't bring the results you expect from us. With an already sparse time per athlete to fit everyone in one day, it cannot be shared. A separate package needs to be booked, one per child.
2I can't decide on a time slot that far in advance...
Understandable. Reserve a spot for now, and you can adjust your time closer to the shoot. We still recommend giving it a good thought first time around, as later on, availability will be limited.
3I know what package I want but can I change its style later?
Yes, for the Digital Art package, you can change the editing style before or after the shoot. For the Enhanced package, you can change the style any time before the shoot, but preferably in advance. For the Standard, there isn't much room for a change—the session is short and is only shot on a white background. With back-to-back arrangements, we can't physically extend it into an Enhanced one. However, you can book another one (in a new time slot) and we'll refund the Standard.
4I started reserving a spot but didn't pay yet, and now I can't book it?
The system is smart but dumb, in a way. Without receiving the session fee (or if it fails in credit card processing system), your slot remains open for grabs. Someone after you must have reserved it. Unless you receive a booking confirmation email, the slot isn't yours yet. There is nothing we can do, unfortunately, but offer any other available time slot.
5We're signing up late, and only evening slots are left. Is there any chance to fit us in earlier?
There are no slots because other parents had already booked them. The only way to get an earlier session is to switch with another parent, or hope that someone would cancel. We might catch a cancellation and inform you, but switching would need to be handled by you, perhaps through a personal outreach in the Facebook group.
6How do I request any changes?
To reschedule, you must use the link emailed to you at booking time. No calls/texts/emails for that, please. If you wish to change the style, feel free to drop us a quick email or call the studio for a more detailed discussion.
7Is session fee refundable?
No but it turns into a studio credit. Money is not lost, you can use that credit for anything we offer.
8Are any prints or digitals included in the session fee?
No. Session fee only covers our time, talent, and basic editing of each photo. Prints and digital negatives, as well as advanced retouching, are available as options.
9Will I need to submit orders/payments through Pike Gymnastics Academy?
No. To simplify your experience, as well as the gym's administration, everything will be handled directly with Zorz Studios. We offer high-tech approach to lots of steps along the way, too.
10Do we have to print with you?
No. If you purchase digital negatives, you can use any lab, including your local pharmacy. If you go with us, we'll be printing at an industry-leading national lab that serves some of the most demanding professional studios around the states (it is closed to the public), so the print quality will be the highest possible.
11How and when will we see the images? How can we place the orders?
All of that will be handled through our studio's online proof gallery. It will be created about 1-2 weeks after the shoot, you will get an email with access information.
12Will the online gallery be visible to public?
No, it will be password-protected for the duration of its life (30 days). It will then be removed from the web.
13Is there any make-up shoot if we can't come?
It could be arranged on an individual basis, as a regular session at a full price. With so much setup required, we can only offer these wholesale session fees when shooting in bulk, unfortunately. We've done many designated sessions for youth and the advantage there is that they are at least one hour long, giving you so much more attention and versatility!
14How do we contact you and how will you communicate?
Email will be the main channel, please provide an email address which you check regularly. All system messages with updates are automatically generated and sent via email, too. Calling may also be used in special cases, our studio number is at the bottom of any webpage.
15I stumbled on this page. Is this only for this school? Can I do a shoot for my child who's not on the team?
This page is specifically for the annual photo day for Pike Gymnastics team. We can certainly offer something similar in style for anyone and anywhere else, be it another large-scale sports team event, or an individual photo shoot. Pricing will vary, as low prices can only be offered in bulk. Separate personal shoots start from $595 but last longer and benefit from a more dedicated and thoughtful approach.

We received a question after sending out the proof gallery which we suspect may be on the minds of a few people, too. Allow us to share it, along with Ed's response:

Q: Hi! So if we wanted the pictures edited to look better is that extra $? I thought these pics were going to be edited before being posted shared with us for purchase?

A: "Thank you for reaching out, sorry I missed your chat after hours.

You are right in thinking that all images would be edited before being posted. They were indeed edited on the standard level as promised on the sign-up page. It took me a whole week to work on those 1,200 keepers. :)
 
On the same event info page I offered a link to compare Standard and Enhanced editing, as well as the table comparison of the packages where you can see that if an optional Enhanced editing is desired, it is $30 per image (listed right under the line with a session fee of $50). 
 
I realize that some industry nuances are odd to non-photographers. To offer some point of reference, enhanced editing takes 30-60 minutes per image. Even if I had 200 instead of our 1,200 images, it would already take me 100-200 hours to do what you would like to see done. In the real world, it's another 1-2 months of gallery preparation when mixed with other shoots and business duties. Unfortunately, it's not feasible unless I charge at least $200 instead of $50 per session to be paid fairly for my time.

Pictured, we've just wrapped up a photo session for our third daughter. Now 4.5, she may be around during this Pike Gymnastics Academy photography event. We all look forward to meeting you!
