Who?
Invited are all engaged, unmarried couples! If you are not, show your love to your friends and rush them over here! They’ll owe you big time if it works out. And, as a destination wedding photographer, I welcome people not only in the NYC metro area, but from across the country and the world as long as they cover reasonable travel and accommodation for one low-maintenance fella…
How?
Win our wedding giveaway by entering the contest and submitting your vision of your epic engagement photoshoot (not the wedding), along with a photo of you two and few more details. The cooler and the more challenging your vision is to execute, the higher the chance of having it done, for free!  Into role-playing? So am I! Indulging fashionista? My background in commercial and fashion photography will pamper your visual desires. Adventurous daredevils? Meet Ed. Love quiet moments and dreaming of Renaissance? I periodically burn the candles through the night in the office filled with classical music…
This is not a raffle, so sparing a few minutes with a vague generic idea in a few words will not get you far, unfortunately. In return for our valuable service and skills, please bring a well-developed, intriguing, and original idea. We can come up with our ideas but that’s when we charge our creative fees.

The finalists of this free wedding photography contest will be announced in this blog and placed for public voting on the contest page linked below. All our fans will be able to cast their vote for who of the finalists has the coolest concept. Entrants are welcome and encouraged to invite their families, friends, and friends of friends to vote, as long as they aren’t robots or fakes who live in Bangladesh (yep, we can tell in analytics). Please, no rigging the votes. It sadly led to the annulment of 2017 results and a major disappointment across the board… Be real and fair.
Last year’s wedding giveaway brought two similar winning concepts. The winners, Shannon and Jaysen, had a viking theme which they extended to their wedding that I shot in Ohio (that’s them below with a bit of my magic). The dreamy cover of this year’s contest is from the runner-ups, Asha and Shobin, with their Game of Thrones theme (check out their engagement shoot). We’re probably full of the sword-wielding concept for now, so please try others when entering the contest. 🙂

UPDATE 01/07/20: Opa! A mere few hours of announcing the contest but we have the first entrants, and they are not even from our existing fanbase! Greetings to a flight attendant from Florida with a promising concept. We’re flying high!
UPDATE 02/02/20: Well, that’s a bummer. Let me be transparent here and give it all out. For the reasons beyond my comprehension, only one couple entered this year… I’ve been doing this contest since 2009 and had dozens of couples enter, shortlisted to three finalists, and then voted by public. While I fine-tuned a few minor rules (last being 3 years ago), the protocol has not changed since the beginning. I also maintained the same costly platform to run the contest, followed a similar timeline, used the same marketing strategies and channels, including paid advertising, saw a comparable reach and web traffic, and spotted some positive signals. Nothing alarmed me. And yet, only one couple saw an opportunity to save thousands on wedding photography expenses. Pure coincidence?
I don’t want to feel the void and ruin the spirit of the contest this strange year. Let me do a walkover—awarding of a victory to a contestant because there are no other contestants. The prize of the free wedding photography goes to Sasha Garcia, a flight attendant from Fort Lauderdale, FL who entered with her airplane theme of the engagement shoot! Congratulations, Sasha!
