I am excited to open the ZORPHOTOUR series with the stylish underwater maternity shoot done in New Orleans, LA.
It’s been a month since I returned from ZORPHOTOUR—the 11,000-mile road trip through 31 US states to photograph friends and clients. Predictably, every day was an adventure and I took the pain of documenting each of them in my Polarsteps trip journal. It took time to start going over all tour shoots while jumping back into the local NY/NJ weddings and delayed photoshoots. Let me open the series with this stylish underwater maternity shoot in New Orleans, LA.
I will be writing these mini-blogs as I complete ZORPHOTOUR clients’ orders. Unlike with all of my usual blogs, these photos are not my selections but a few of clients’ favorites. Without a lengthy explanation, this is the way to get everything out sooner. Some of clients’ favorites match mine but my plan is to prepare a director’s cut later—a special compilation blog with some of the best tour stories, moments, and my own favorite photos taken during the tour, both professionally and on my trusted Samsung Note 8 (like of our RV at the Sequoia National Park below). Keep an eye on that super blog but until then, mini-stories!
Yelena, a cosmetologist and hair stylist herself, is my long-time boudoir and fine art portrait client. She moved from New York to Louisiana and met Adam there. They came to NYC for their engagement session past winter and when learned about my US photo tour, jumped on another opportunity—her maternity session! As she followed my work for a long time and is the person who doesn’t go with ordinary, her take was underwater. She arranged for a pool with her friend Christina Marie DiLeo on Demourelles Island.
We had three hours to work with and started with a few regular portraits around the house. Three outfits, 5-7 basic shots for each to breeze through them and then we went in! Yelena wasn’t quite ready for diving but as it is the case, listened well to the instructions and got the hang of it, performing remarkably well.
I loved the fact that she went with Adam, in pretty formal attire, giving it a chic touch to the already striking setup for the stylish underwater maternity shoot.
