What young girl, if only in her deep thoughts or uninhibited curiosity, didn’t picture herself walking a runway or modeling in front of a flashing camera? This Sweet 16 client was given such experience.
Meet my underwater dancer again, emerging artists Annamaria. I have just posted her first of two Sweet 16 artistic portraiture sessions (left) when we took it to the waters and created one-of-a-kind visuals that stood out of my fairly diverse underwater photography portfolio. Several weeks after that adventure we hit the streets of NYC.
This photoshoot wasn’t as long as her all-day underwater performance so we chose a short strip between the Grand Central and Times Square, encountering many cool, funny, and scary photo ops along the way, nonetheless. Captain America on his daily commute, Spider-Man and his third occupation, police not stopping us from stopping the traffic, a red cousin of the Grinch, random tourists also wanting their share of posing with NYC models, and the improvised runway under the Gotham City rain—all made my Sweet 16 client cry for more at the end of this unforgettable photo adventure. Well, the life is ahead of us, and the next stop is her Sweet 16 party for me to cover coming weekend.
P.S. Regular readers may sense a shorter story this time… Sorry to appear abrupt but this is a necessary measure to help me go quicker through the accumulated seasonal workload, national and international travels, and one very demanding change in personal life—bringing my new family to the country several months ago. I am not sure if I can blog every shoot nowadays but if I do, it will likely be a short story. Hope you will still enjoy it!
