Imagine a boudoir photography session for a business owner, investor, real estate agent, nurse, and a mother of two—all in one person. Let’s see how close your imagination got.
Such was the bouquet of achievements with which the beautiful owner of ESFIRsalon introduced herself to me. Unlike many boudoir photography clients, she wanted to put a lot of character into her image besides looking exotic and sexy, defining the session seemingly simply: “boudoir / professional”. This required some head scratching during the preparation but a very helping and key factor was her willingness to go all-out and embark on the full-day photo session. This approach can undoubtedly open up lots of resources and properly develop a theme, as was the case with my recent destination maternity session in Greece.
I asked Esfira to describe her vision to help me navigate through this boudoir / professional maze and I heard “classy, edgy, sophisticated, modern, provocative, strong”. After some more discussion, I finally set the course; earlier this month she came to the studio. Most of the session was done there but I requested access to her hair removal salon some blocks away from my studio where I wanted to put my mad hands on that scary-sounding laser apparatus. I wish we could do it earlier in the day when the energy was at its peak, though. It is a cool and unique concept for boudoir photography, with a potential much greater than I could squeeze out after exhausting our beautiful power lady for seven hours without a lunch break. But, as the samples below illustrate, we covered a lot and I believe we made it out of the maze!
