It is common to receive a photo session request for the first pregnancy. It has its own undeniable charm and significance, reflected in a specific way through fine art portraiture. But when you hear from an expecting mom of two little children, you realize the potential of creating something more—a fun maternity shoot.
Meet Tanya and her family. I am sure they already (or will) have cute but basic family portraits and while I still got a few for them, one of my main goals was to create something fun and playful to make the two kids involved and entertained. Upon some pondering, I came up with the ideas of “can-a-phones” (if there is such a word) and finger painting. The former comes straight from my childhood fun memories although I was not as fortunate to enjoy the ease of child-safe painting, making do with more permanent pigment solutions… So this is what this fun maternity shoot got to be about: “copy” as a procedure word (you know, radio lingo), and all that colorful squishy paste.
And what Zorz Studios’ photo session would be without fine art portraiture? I could not resist creating a few old-master style portraits for a proper balance.
