When a fashionista gets pregnant, you can expect a special dress for her maternity session.

My collection of maternity photography, recently featured by Cosmopolitan, got a suitable fashion twist. I have a very special client, Meera, whose touching candid proposal I shot at NYC’s Metropolitan Museum, followed by her engagement session in San Francisco, CA, later magically culminated in capturing her wedding in Bangalore, India. She kindly refers her friends to me and this young fashionable lady, Dipti, was her roommate back in college.

Dipti is a little remote from NYC so we talked on the phone first. As I started thinking creatively, I discovered one of the dresses she had in her stash, by Caché, and my search was over. I immediately had a vision in mind: classic, elegant, and glamorous maternity session, accentuated with dramatic studio lighting. Little did I know that I was right on target—Dipti turned out to be part of a fashionista family clan, composed of three lovely sisters. I stumble on and recommend fashion bloggers on studio’s Facebook page time to time, so this is a perfect opportunity to present you with their lively blog, Runways & Rattles (“three sisters dishing on South Asian culture, couture & kids”).
