Today marks the first anniversary for my dear friends Meera and Arjun whose wedding I had an opportunity to photograph in Bangalore, India. This unforgettable odyssey began long before, with their candid proposal session in NY and the engagement session in CA which were thoroughly described in my other blog entry.
Their selected images were long prepared and the album printed but today Meera and I would like to share my own selection of images, my artist’s cut on the three days of coverage in India. All main functions–Sangeet, Mehndi, Nichayadartham, Wedding, and the Reception–took place at the gorgeous The Taj West End Hotel, a historical colonial landmark dating back to 19th century and home to some of the most valuable heritage rain trees in the city, where many members of Indian Royalty, venerated Russian artist and writer Roerich, Sir Winston Churchill, Aerosmith, and other honorable guests once lived and stayed.
Although I photographed Indian and Pakistani weddings before, this was my first trip to the land of vibrant, spiritual, cultural, and natural heritage, India. Documenting this celebration was a living dream and an honor to be made part of the wedding… I have recently returned from my second trip to India to photograph Meera and Arjun’s friends, Varun and Sunanda… All of that, and my personal photo reportage from both trips will be added to the blog later, too. 🙂
Thank you Meera and Arjun for such a dream-like experience! My best wishes of love and sunshine to you!
