Karl Lagerfeld of Chanel house offered something for everyone with his Fall/Winter 2013 collection in Paris two weeks ago with a celebrity line up in the front row, including Jessica Chastain, Milla Jovovich, and Frank Ocean. With the message of catering to the geographical needs and tastes, the brand demonstrated how to be a global brand.
From black leather boots with silver chains, the chain necklaces, to denim jeans with tweed flowers, leather leggings, the pleated mini skirts, skirts splitting down the center and worn with shorts, to classic Chanel tweed ensembles, to conservative long and lean graphic print dresses, to more haute couture sweaters embellished with colorful feathers or black and white coats decorated with fabric flowers. Other notable elements were shining in the woven pieces, glittering tweeds, high cut on the thigh at the front, dipping to mid-calf at the back, and leggings that start at the thigh and ends at the ankle.
“It’s romantic. I loved the coats. It’s early 20th-century Coco, but he’s made it uber-modern.” – Milla Jovovich
