Yesterday, designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli of the house of Valentino made their Fall/Winter 2013 collection a tribute to youthful purity that is classy and chic. Resembling a modern fairy tale, at time models felt like stepped out of a painting (think “Princesse de Joinville” by Francoise Caroline Gonzague, for example) or a medieval tapestry… Long sleeved baby doll dresses with lace and crisp satin collars, short dresses with medieval tapestry fabrics or floral embroideries, scalloped edged sleeves, broad cuffs, faux front pockets, blue and white floral pottery theme—a collection ubiquitous with romance, beauty, and femininity.
