Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli have lead the house of Valentino since 2008 and their latest collection, shown in Paris last week, is called Le Silence de Tournesols (“The Silence of Sunflowers”). They called it the most elaborate collection and to illustrate, refer to the number of hours put into the manual craftsmanship, typically from 800 to 900 hours in each… “This collection is so special,” said Chiuri at the time. “I am really emotional about this collection because the workmanship is so incredible that I don’t think anyone will believe it.” The rich embroidery, crystal beading, use of mother of pearl and cords make the collection truly incredible.
