I’ve had a pleasure of another scenic destination wedding (I went to Alaska last year) in Avon, CO. Another beautiful bride and handsome groom! Mary Clare moved to New York from Colorado while Dan is from New Zealand. The mix of guests was rather broad, from New Zealand, Australia, UK, to Hawaii, California, and New York. A warm, friendly, and cozy wedding it was. I only regret that I didn’t have as much opportunity to use the scenic backgrounds as I wished.
On the image above, we are returning from the top of the Beaver Creek Mountain (summit elevation: 11,440 ft. / 3,488 m). It runs about half a mile to the side from the reception place, where the wedding party spotted the guests and tried to draw their attention.
As with many destination weddings and due to Avon’s remote location from the Denver airport, the travel time averaged 13.5 hours each way.
This gives me an opportunity to share photographs taken during my previous trip to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado in 2007.
