One Afternoon, Two Sessions, Four Clients

The afternoon of May 9th, 2009, the Day of Great Victory, was spent in Manhattan shooting two sessions.

I started with driving to our studio on Broadway where I soon met Alina and Radion whose wedding I shot two months ago. Hmm, that was also a notable holiday, International Women’s Day. The guys must love holidays… The setup was pretty formal, full wedding attire, studio lighting, some traditional poses, followed by more intriguing, as usual… Lovely couple!

After the guys left, I got into the car, turned on the navigator, keyed in the next address, smiled to the fact that it turned out to be two blocks away, got out of the car, and walked to the hotel where my next couple got a room for their engagement session. Daria the bride is my good friend from a photography-related community of Fotki.com, where we participated in a close circle of artists of Shekhinah project. The cool hotel, remodeled from a former apartment building, is all about art, including photography. Among the tricks used was a heavy usage of the radio-controlled off-camera lighting, as seen on the photo above. The speedlight is shooting through the railing of the staircase.

Coincidentally, both of the favorite shots from these separate sessions have something in common…
