The saga of Zorz Studios’ epic brides continues, this time with a dramatic maternity session.
Often referred to by me as “legends”, they are the ones who claimed a solid spot in my portfolio and whose sessions I regularly show to the potential clients looking for a given type of a photo session. I’ve told you stories of some just recently (this and this) and now meet Sasha, a lovely wife of NYC-based DJ Gio. I photographed their wedding day-after session which concluded with a series of hot images, including the one on the left.
Fast forward a few years and they delight me with a news of expecting, so another shoot, maternity session, was due! We chose a beach theme and I took them to a secluded area which is dear to me—it is where my very first professional photo shoot took place years ago with Tanya, another studio’s legend and a subject of some really sick projects, from underwater, to abandoned buildings, to body painting. All of you know a photo from that first shoot: it honorably became part of Zorz Studios logo!
The location, while within NYC, offers a vast sand and water surface sans recreational citizens. The only challenge was that due to certain considerations, we did not conduct her maternity session as early as I advise to my clients: it was her last month of pregnancy and on a hot day like that, directly under the summer sun, it was not easy for her. She had her faithful husband by her side so we all managed! Got him in the shots, too (I think he digs it).
And a sweet detail for dessert. I love giving back in a number of ways. These guys referred quite a number of clients to me, directly or not, so this maternity session could be nothing else but a sincere gift from my studio.
The story isn’t over yet. I am shooting their newborn baby girl tomorrow. 🙂
