Receiving Bride’s Choice Award 2009
February 3, 2009

More than two months of anxiety are over. I am excited to announce the winners of Zorz Studios’ EngagEd contest, opened on November 15, 2008. Dozens of entrants with their vision of an engagement session, four finalists, more than 600 of voters, and now, the Grand Prix winner and two runner-ups!

First Place – Maya BeynishesPrize: complimentary e-session and free wedding photography service.

“A walk through the streets of old New York in the style of 1930’s Film Noir. The groom donning a fitted striped suit with a fedora hat and the bride classic and timeless. The vision for the overall look is black and white and playing with lighting and shadows. Locations would be cobble stone streets, under and on the Brooklyn Bridge, and catching the last ride on the Staten Island Ferry… Perhaps renting those 30’s looking limo would complete the look.”

Second Place – Julia RaychukPrize: complimentary e-session and 20-page album of session’s images.

“Us together, braving the elements and mother natures wrath. Climbing, jumping, embracing in a storm either snow or rain. Nude (tastefully) on a beach encircled in a ring of fire. Anything representing our great love showcased by the elements of water, fire, earth, air, etc.”

Third Place – Jessie Lee CosmosPrize: complimentary e-session.

“Since my fiance is in the United States Navy, I have always dreamed of taking our engagement photos as an up-to-date recreation of the ever so popular Sailor kissing a nurse in New York City. I love winter time in New York and would love to make edgy photos of him in his uniform and p.coat in Manhattan and give the photo a modern 1920’s feel. I’d love to see my red lips standing out in a black and white photo, or dark berry nails with my engagement ring. We could even take the pictures in the Bronx Zoo to give it a dated feeling…oh the possibilities!”

Congratulations, guys! Whoa, some work for me here… 🙂 I usually put much time and effort in shoot preparations and I can tell that these projects will require some more. Charge!

I am also happy to say that although Caren, the fourth finalists, did not win, I am offering her a 50% discount on their e-session.  All other contest entrants are eligible for 30% discount, as my way to show appreciation for their time and sharing their feelings. Please contact the studio for arrangements.

Vanessa Joy
Olga Mironova

And now I am kinda sad… it’s been certainly lots of fun. Well, the fun should not end here. Let it become an annual affair! Zorz Studios will conduct a similar (if not better) contest by the end of 2009, so if you feel that things are heading that way for you or your friends, bookmark this page or Zorz Studios’ home page and come back in November for the announcement!

Thank you everyone! Best wishes of oo-la-la-love!
